Dress code Garden Party

We’re celebrating in true garden-party style and would love your attire to match the spirit of the day—think floral patterns, cheerful colors, and springtime elegance. In true Tait fashion, fun clothing and vibrant colors are a must! That’s just a suggestion, though—feel free to play around with the theme and wear something that feels like you.

Our one main request: please avoid wearing black. We’re dreaming of a bright sea of spring color and kindly ask that no black dresses, suits, or shirts be worn.

NO BLACK!

Ladies:

Florals are encouraged along with bright, lively hues like blush, lavender, sage, sky blue, lemon, peach, and any lovely spring shades. Flowing dresses, skirts, or dressy jumpsuits in playful patterns and light fabrics will fit beautifully with the celebration. Don’t hold back on joyful prints, statement accessories, and happy pops of color.

Shoes: Heels are absolutely not required. Since our ceremony will be outdoors, the bride and bridesmaids will be wearing Converse sneakers, and we invite you to be just as comfortable. Whether you choose sandals, flats, wedges, clean classic sneakers, or your favorite pair of Converse, feel free to come in footwear that lets you enjoy the day with ease.

Gentlemen:

Classic, colorful, and relaxed is the way to go. Suggestions include:

Khakis or tailored trousers in tan, navy, olive, light gray, or pastels

Button-downs, polos, or dress shirts in pastels, subtle prints, or floral patterns

Sport coats or blazers in light tones or breathable fabrics like linen

Loafers, boat shoes, brown dress shoes, or dressy sneakers

Patterned touches like floral ties, pocket squares, gingham, seersucker, or fun socks
